BARCELONA, Spain, Oct. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Temu, the global online marketplace, has been recognised with the Cross-Border Magazine Award for its contribution to Europe's digital economy and its commitment to helping local enterprises grow their online presence and expand into new markets.
The accolade highlights Temu's ongoing efforts to tackle the core barriers holding back European small businesses: growing operational complexity, rising costs, and the challenge of building reliable connections with sales channels.
"Temu has become a significant part of Europe's e-commerce landscape, connecting millions of consumers with businesses across the region," said Jeroen Leenders, founder of Cross-Border Magazine. "For its continued investment in supporting European businesses and building a more connected e-commerce ecosystem, we are pleased to give this recognition to Temu."
The award was presented at a ceremony in Barcelona on 1 October 2026.
Launched in 2024, Temu's Local Seller Programme offers European businesses an additional channel to reach customers in their home markets and internationally. Sellers can also connect their existing business software to Temu through more than 200 ERP integrations and access a network of more than 150 delivery providers across Europe, including DHL Group and La Poste.
Over the past year, Temu held more than 100 meetings with trade associations, chambers of commerce and start-up networks in Europe to understand the barriers to e-commerce growth. Those discussions have consistently highlighted complexity, cost and connection, informing the programme's development and its focus on simpler access to new markets, affordable operations and dedicated local support.
Recent findings underscore the tangible impact. A Temu survey conducted across Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Poland, and the UK showed that half of participating local sellers have scaled up their production capacity, hired additional staff, or both since joining the platform. Furthermore, 34% of EU-based respondents said they had expanded into new international markets.
"We thank Cross-Border Magazine for recognising our work to support businesses across Europe," said a Temu spokesperson. "Businesses consistently tell us they want simpler, more affordable ways to reach new customers, alongside local support when they need it. We look forward to continuing our work in helping sellers grow at home and abroad and create jobs within their communities."
